Tell us a little about yourself!
What made you start CrossFit and what has kept you doing it? Has your motivation changed since you first started?
My sister Jessie is a coach and would never shut up about it. She made it seem pretty good, so I tried it. She was right. My motivation has changed from simply wanting to get in shape to wanting to continue to work hard, challenge myself, build mental strength, and encourage others. CrossFit does that for me.
What have you learned since joining the CrossFit St. Charles Family?
Since joining CrossFit, I’ve learned that CrossFit is really hard. Lol. I’ve learned that hard work pays off, and that together we can go further even if it’s a little slower than going by yourself.
What’s your favorite CrossFit moment?
My favorite CrossFit moment(s) are being able to come to the gym and hit a workout with my two sisters (Jeanne and Jessie). And the general familial atmosphere that our gym has.
What impact has CrossFit had on you outside of the gym?
CrossFit has given me a mentality that I CAN do whatever I put my mind to. That hard work pays off, and difficulty produces perseverance. CrossFit has also opened my eyes to the importance of taking care of your health.
What’s your next CrossFit goal(s) and how close are you to reaching it?
My current CrossFit goal is to keep showing up to classes. To keep doing the work. To be someone who welcomes everyone, helps others, and sucks up to the coaches.
What’s something we might not know about you yet?
You might not know that I have a YUGE collection of LOTR cards. #nerd
What advice might you give to someone who is considering joining CrossFit St. Charles or is new to the gym?
Don’t compare yourself to others, start where you’re at, and work hard.
