Our community is better because of you!

My husband and I recently moved back to the St. Louis area and are now living in St. Charles with our dog. I like to travel and spend time with my friends and family. I joined CrossFit St Charles in November 2018.

  • Tell us a little about yourself!

    My husband and I recently moved back to the St. Louis area and are now living in St. Charles with our dog. I like to travel and spend time with my friends and family. I joined CrossFit St Charles in November 2018.

  • What made you start CrossFit and what has kept you doing it? Has your motivation changed since you first started?

    I started CrossFit because I liked that it would be a variety in the types of exercise instead of training in only one area. I have kept doing it because it has been fun to work out with and get to know the people here. I like that no two classes are the same and that the schedule is flexible since you are not tied to attending class at the same time each week.

  • What have you learned since joining the CrossFit St. Charles Family?

    I have learned what a great community there is at CFSTC. The coaching staff is excellent and each coach has helped me improve different aspects of each movement.

  • What’s your favorite CrossFit moment?

    I participated in the open not long after joining CFSTC and we were doing cleans in the workout with increasing weight. I was struggling to get under the bar when the weight increased. I heard Joe yell at me “faster elbows” and on the next attempt, I got under the bar to complete the lift and was able to get two more reps at that weight before time ran out.

  • What impact has CrossFit had on you outside of the gym?

    Improved my overall fitness level and given me another family to be a part of.

  • What’s your next CrossFit goal(s) and how close are you to reaching it?

    I would like to get double-unders and strict pull-ups, but I still have a way to go on both.

  • What’s something we might not know about you yet?

    I enjoy gardening and spending time outside.

  • What advice might you give to someone who is considering joining CrossFit St. Charles or is new to the gym?

    Don’t be nervous to attend classes at different times of the day or with different coaches. CFSTC has been a welcoming community. It has been easy to be a part of any of the classes even if it's not your “normal time”.

    Show up, work hard, do your best.

  • Write us a WOD! What kinda movements do you love? What’s your favorite way to put in work?

    I like when there is a combination of running and other movements, not only lifting. 4 rounds of: 400m run, 15 sit-ups, 10 box jumps (or sandbag cleans), 5 pull-ups.
