Congratulations Kyle Pick! You are CrossFit St. Charles November Athlete of The Month!


1. How long have you been with CrossFit St. Charles? How has CrossFit improved your lifestyle?
I started at CFSTC in August 2014 knowing absolutely nothing about it. I did my free assessment with Ben and remember telling him I was just looking for a change from the regular gym. I had been a member of other gyms before, but like everyone else, could never stick with a program longer than a month or two at a time. CrossFit has not only helped me get in great shape, but it changed the way I think about exercise. I don’t measure success based on the number on the scale. Getting to the gym is no longer a chore, but a reward. There is no better way to relieve the a stressful day at work than get to the gym and crushing a WOD!
2. What is your favorite  WOD?
I have really enjoyed going back through the benchmark WOD’s. Grace is one of my favorites. One of the best feelings for me is finishing any workout RX, when I know I had no chance of getting through it a year ago!
3. Least Favorite WOD?
Anything with thrusters or front squat. I am constantly fighting to stay upright in the front rack.
4. What is your favorite movement to work on?
Any type of squat, focusing on hip mobility. I also desperately want to get that first muscle up.
5. If you had a superpower, what would your powers be and why?
My wife and I seem to have this debate on a regular basis, but I would definitely go with flying. My job requires me to drive all over the place each and every day, I would gladly give up the time I waste traveling.
6. When you are 80 years old, what is something you will be sure to tell your children?
When I was 17, I threw a perfect game in a baseball game. Disregarding the fact that it was just a recreational league with my friends, it was the highlight of my competitive sports career.  My buddies and I tell that story to anyone who will listen, and it has become a trademark story of mine over the years.
