She is dedicated to learning and improving her strength and skill. If you’ve worked out with Valerie you know that she’s been killing it in the gym. She identifies the movements that are the most difficult for her and dedicates time and effort to improve them. She never misses a snatch day!
Valerie is a former college athlete (she played softball with coach Hopper!) and has been coaching her daughter’s softball team for the last 6 years.
She loves working with the young athletes and teaching them not only the fundamentals of softball, but the life lessons we learn through sports.
Sports are a common topic in the Barr household, her husband Ryan is a coach at CrossFit St. Charles, and her son enjoys CrossFit, running, and golf.
Valerie is also an avid runner who has completed 6 marathons. She has been listening to people when they say “I hate running” and feels that with a little time and effort we can all improve our running skills. She would love nothing more than to be able to help others get into running, improve their skills and/or help an advanced runner improve their time.
With Valerie we are super excited to announce the CFStC Run Club.
Look for more information this week!
Valerie says “Running is my therapy, it’s time to clean out the in-box within my head. I was scared to start CrossFit, but after an injury while training for a marathon, I scheduled some sessions with Kim, and the rest is history. Don’t be afraid to try something new! Hope to see everyone at Run Club in October!”
