How about a huge congratulations to Sara Palmier for earning the title Athlete of the Month! Sara was nominated by Ryan Barr and we just had to agree! She is relentless, never gives up, always cheers on others, and has a smile on at all times! Get to know this wonderful badass!

1. Congrats Sara, you’re Athlete of the Month! Do you have a victory song or pump up music we can play in our heads as we read this? 
I’m going to steal the Blues victory song – Blur Song 2 because “woohoo” is exactly how I feel about being athlete of the month.

2. How long have you been with us now? What was your first workout?
I’ve been here a year now.  My first workout after foundations was Filthy 50, beginners were to scale it to Dirty 30.  Never in my life was I so glad to be a beginner at something.  50 Box Jumps 24/20, 50 Jumping Pull Up, 50 KB Swings 35/25, 50 Walking Lunges, 50 K2E, 50 Push Press 45/35, 50 Supermans, 50 Wallballs 20/14, 50 Burpees, 50 Double Unders.  35 minute time cap, I have no idea what I finished it in but I finished.  I remember all of this because I took a picture, sent it to a group of friends seriously questioning WTF I had signed up for.

3. What’s a day in the life of Sara look like? 
A day in the life of Sara is wake up at 5am because Dawn Patrol is where it’s at of course then come home and get my 2 girls ready and off to school.  I work on search engine marketing campaigns for an advertising agency called Goodway Group.  Most of my day is on the phone with coworkers, clients, doing fancy math with words on Google, and listening to music while singing loudly because I work from home.  When my girls get off the bus in the afternoon it’s all about them – homework, practices, scouts, etc.  I don’t go to bed much later than they do, but I do spend time in the evening relaxing with my husband Tom.

4.If you could be any animal in the world, what would you be and why? 
A lion because they are strong, agile, and beautiful.  Lions also live in warm places and travel in packs so you wouldn’t be alone.  I also enjoy a good cat nap.  🙂

5. Whats next on your list of things to conquer? CrossFit or non CrossFit related.
My current goals are 10 push ups without using my knees at all and kicking up into a handstand on my own.

6. You’ve just been given a shot of a drug that will give you the first super power you think of. What will your super power be? 

My super power would be to heal.  Preferably like Rapunzel where my hair glows and I sing in this beautiful voice while I heal people, but I’ll take what I can get to make people feel better.

7. What’s the Sara Palmier Motto?
