Thursday-Athlete Of The Month!

Huge shout out to Taylor Bennett on earning this months title of Athlete of the Month! Get to know this little beast!

  1. Congrats Taylor! Athlete of the Month! Whats your favorite pump up song to play as we read this?

Eminem- Lose yourself

  1. How long have you been with us now? How did you find us?

I joined CrossFit St. Charles November 2015, when I moved to St Charles I knew I needed to find a gym that would allow me to express my competitive drive and I began searching for Crossfit gyms.

  1. Favorite workout?

I don’t have a particular workout I enjoy, but I do enjoy snatches and overhead squats.

  1. Least Favorite?

Rowing, Rowing, anything rowing pretty much. The worst though was the other week when we had to row 200, 400, 600 three times. Honestly, I would rather run a marathon than row, rowing was not meant for me, but I do it anyways because it makes me mentally tougher.

  1. You recently got accepted into something pretty cool, right? Tell us about that!

I have always had a fascination with teeth and helping others. Growing up I didn’t realize those two passions would soon become my dream and now my reality. I have recently been accepted into University Missouri Kansas City Dental School Class of 2021. I will begin Dental School in August and be there for four years. After dental school I plan to pursue an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency and finally, when I’m all grown up I plan to take my skills globally and do medical mission trips.

  1. You’re a new addition to the Crayon box, what color are you and why?

The brightest crayon in the box. A really pretty bright, glittery, blue. I would choose blue because it is my favorite color and glitter because it is always left behind. I hope wherever I go in life I can make a positive impact or leave a little sparkle.

  1. We finish up class, you walk outside and find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. Whats the first thing you do?

First, I would pay off all of my school loans. Then, I would begin distributing. I would use the money to fund medical mission trips and global practices. I would use some of the money to fund my next crazy dream, opening an orphanage.

  1. What inspires you?

I’ve always been inspired by people who work really hard and aren’t afraid if they fail or stand out. I enjoy reading biographies about people who give back everything and make a difference. Recently I read a book called Kisses for Katie and she is my new inspiration. Katie, a young teenager, left her perfect life in the states and moved to Uganda. In Uganda she taught kindergarten, began a sponsorship program, adopted fourteen children, and walked among the outcasts. I have always been drawn to mission work and helping others, so reading her story has inspired me.

We are so grateful to have you Taylor! Stay awesome in all that you do!
